The Spaceship Took Us to Octavia Page 3
Now, the process of instant manifestation is not very complicated. The size, functions, and nature of anything you plan to bring into reality depend on you alone. First, you are visualizing in your head what you want to manifest, for example, a chair. Second, when you got the image of a chair in your head, imagine where you want to place it in your reality. In front of you, for example. Then you should say davriada, and here we go, a chair is here.”
Indeed, the chair appeared in front of Patricia.
“The most important thing here is your ability to focus and also to not have ten thoughts simultaneously in your head while trying to manifest one object. Because if you say davriada while thinking about a chair and a bed, you will bring those two objects into reality. And most probably they won’t correspond given features. Well, it is possible to manifest a few objects at one time, but as you are beginners, you have to start small. I will assist you during this lesson, so let me know if you will need help. Over there on that field, each of you will stake out space where you will begin to create. So, is everybody ready? Great, let's start!”
Each found a place not far from one another and started to work on the task. Arthur sat on the grass, deliberating his plan of action. Meanwhile, somewhat like a greenhouse, appeared out of thin air right next to Carol.
For the next couple of hours, everyone was occupied with their task. When the time was approaching to the end, Patricia asked them to wrap up.
“You have five minutes remaining!”
When time finally ran out, Carol started first. Everyone stepped inside of her greenhouse. It was bright and spacious, with lots of plants and flying butterflies in it.
“As we can create here everything we can imagine… I thought of a place where I can design my type of animals, like these butterflies. I have created five different types, as you may see. If you want to experiment and create your type of butterfly, you can paint it, and then it will transform into the real one. Here I made the templates that can help you.”
Large easels with all kinds of drawing equipment stood near them.
“May I try it?” Patricia asked.
“Yes, of course.”
Everyone came to the easels, and using templates, painted their butterflies. After the paintings were done, the butterflies came to life and flew away out of the paper—the greenhouse filled with more different types of butterflies.
“Wow,” Arthur exclaimed in delight when his butterfly raised over the easel.
“They are so beautiful, great idea, Carol!” Patricia said.
“Thanks!”
After lingering a little longer in Carol’s studio, everyone set off to see Arthur’s. When they came closer to his creation, they saw a real candy factory, with a multitude of candy machines producing a lot of sweets. Everything looked bright, colorful, and motley.
“Welcome to my confectionary,” Arthur said to his visitors. “Mum always scolds me for eating too many sweets. But what can I do? I love sweets! And who doesn’t?
For this reason, I decided to make a special kind of candy. You can eat as many of these as you like without any harm for you.” Arthur seemed very excited about this idea.
They could see the process of making sweets from the beginning to the wrapping stage. Machines were making candies synchronically like in a real factory.
“Now, who wants to try?”
Carol took one and bit it, the others did the same. Everyone found Arthur’s candies a bit unusual in taste, but delicious. River asked for some more.
“I’ve never eaten anything like this,” Patricia said. “I feel as if I could eat this every day, honestly!”
Arthur lit up with joy. Carol asked if she could take some sweets to share with Vic. Arthur was happy to do so and helped everyone to fill their pockets with candies.
Now it was River’s turn. He seemed to be slightly upset. In front of him was a small building. The boy opened the entrance door, but when the kids entered, there saw an empty space.
“Where is everything?” asked Arthur.
“I decided to make a laboratory where things like teleportation will be studied in our world. I am sure if I learn how it works here, we can start applying that knowledge in our world right after we will return from Octavia. This room is empty because I had no idea where to begin. I was coming up with some things, which I wrote down in the journal, but in the end, I just didn’t know what to materialize.”
“Don’t worry. I am sure elders will reply with explanations and recommendations. I like your idea, but it could be dangerous if at this time something like this laboratory appeared in your world. I hope it will exist eventually, just probably not yet,” said Patricia.
“Why not?” asked Arthur.
“Ortigon controls things like this. If there is any suspicion that someone knows more than it is supposed to in your world, he might find it out and stop it. I am just saying that you have to be careful.”
“But we have to do something,” River said. His voice tinged with vexation. “How can we go back to our world and do nothing knowing that nearby, you can fly to different planets on bicycles and endlessly eat harmless sweets?!”
A stunned silence settled in the room. River’s words made everyone come back to reality. Patricia was the first to break the silence.
“Yes, you’re right, but everything’s not as simple as it seems. We are constantly working to weaken Ortigon’s curse, so hopefully, one day, it will be possible to make such things! But for now, we have to be very careful with our actions for everyone’s good.”
After a few moments River replied, “Sorry about that. I will change the timing of my idea then.”
“No worries. Yeah, that’ would be better. Our lesson is over now. Make sure you will finish the descriptions of your projects in your journals. Elders will review them tomorrow. By the way, they can travel into the past and become observers of your creation process. Only after that, they give you the marks,” Patricia informed of another unusual detail. “Is everyone ready to leave? Good. I will clear the field now.”
With that, all manifested things disappeared in a moment. The children packed their things and set off back to the camp.
Chapter four
An Unexpected Meeting
A surprise awaited upon their return. Riding back toward the campsite, Patricia, River, Carol, and Arthur saw Vic sitting in the field talking with an older man. Catching sight of the other kids, Vic ran to meet them, shouting, “Carol, you’ll never believe it! Grandpa’s here!”
“What?” Carol dropped her bike and ran to embrace her grandfather. “I can’t believe my eyes! Grandpa, how did you get here?”
“Now that, my dear, is a long story…”
Suddenly, an older woman appeared on the road and walked toward them.
“Grandma?” River and Arthur exclaimed together. They, too, dropped their bikes and ran to her.
“Grandma is it you?!” Arthur asked, not believing his eyes.
“I’m going to leave now,” Patricia said. “We’ll meet up at dinner. I bet you have some questions for your grandparents.”
“Patricia, you must have known that they were waiting here for us?” Carol asked.
The girl grinned, “See you soon!” Patricia hopped back on her bike and rode toward the main house.
“So... Grandma,” River looked questioningly at the elderly woman. “Tell us, please, what all this means?”
“Much time has passed since the two of us first came here,” Grandma Doris looked at Vic and Carol’s grandfather.
“What?!” everyone gasped in unison.
“Carol and Vic, your Grandpa Joe and I were here many years ago. As a matter of fact, at that time, we were just about your age.”
Grandma Doris and Grandpa Joe suddenly appeared in a new light before their grandchildren.
“Why didn’t we hear anything about this before?” Carol asked.
“We tried to raise you according to Octavia’s laws—as much as possible, at least
, without exposing the main secret that we were here,” Grandpa Joe said.
“Were our parents here, too? Are they coming as well?” Arthur asked.
“Your parents don’t know anything about this. Not everyone is lucky enough to visit Octavia.”
“What about our parents?” Carol asked Grandpa Joe in a low voice.
“Unfortunately, they also never had the chance to visit this place. I passed all the knowledge to your mother—my daughter, and she raised you well, but what’s to be done when life ends so abruptly?” Grandpa said sorrowfully. “Your parents would have been delighted knowing that you are here.”
River and Arthur looked upon the brother and sister with compassion. They couldn’t imagine what it would be like to lose their parents.
“I’m so glad to see you!” Grandpa Joe comforted Vic and Carol, “I always wanted my children and grandchildren to have the chance to come here. And it finally happened!”
“We’re happy to see you, too, Grandpa,” Carol said.
As it appeared, their grandparents arrived in Octavia for a few days. This was part of the program, where new guests could meet their family members or friends who were in Octavia before.
There were many guests at the camp, roughly the same age as the four. They were from different countries and also never knew about Octavia before. Unlike Arthur, River, and Carol, Vic tried to avoid interacting with the other camp guests as much as possible. He was alone most of the time, attempting to keep at a safe distance from the crowd. Grandpa Joe decided to talk with him.
“Maybe there’s something you’d like to tell me?”
“I had my doubts in the beginning,” the boy began. “Now that you’re here, it’s easier for me to accept everything that’s happening. But there’s still so much I can’t understand.”
“You just need a piece of precise scientific evidence before you truly begin to believe, don’t you?” Grandpa suggested.
“The fact that we can fly, manifest instantly, and other crazy things—all of this is more suspicious compared to our world. Yes, lots of things are miserable there, but it seems to me all that is entirely logical.”
“Why do you think evil is logical?”
The boy pondered the question for a moment. He tried to find a suitable answer but couldn’t think of anything convincing.
“You see, it’s difficult to find proof when it comes to such matters.”
“In our world, at least science can prove something.’
“Listen to your heart. It will tell you what is true and what is not. You might need some time before you discover the answer.”
Climbing to the top of a small hill, Grandpa Joe and Vic admired a most remarkable sunset. The plunging sun painted the sky with splashes of color. The stars began to sparkle like gems in the fast-approaching thick blue darkness. They appeared to be much brighter here as if this was not the Earth, but another planet.
Vic and Grandpa Joe joined Grandma Doris, Carol, River, and Arthur, and together they headed toward the main house for dinner. This dinner took place from time to time, bringing both guests and Octavia inhabitants together to dine.
The lit rooms in the main house were visible from afar. Small objects sparkled all over the lawn in front of the entrance. Arthur picked one up. Suddenly, the thing stirred in his palm. The boy quickly raised his hand to the light and saw that it appeared to be a glowworm. It gleamed much brighter than the usual kind. Arthur placed it carefully back on the lawn.
Entering the house, they walked through a corridor into the Great Hall. Many of the other guests were already seated around tables. The citizens of other planets looked not only different from earthlings but also ate different foods: the family from the Centaurus constellation drank from cups filled with a gold-colored liquid. One might even presume that the cups’ contents were, in fact, liquid gold. The guests from Antose Valley ate violet buds with something that resembled a fork with just one tooth and sipped something strange from silver cups. The children from the planet Ksanforce ate nothing as air sustained their lively energy. The food for humans was more or less ordinary, with an elaborate array of tasty things.
Before dessert was brought out, the tables and chairs with seated guests moved to the hall’s perimeter.
Florence’s voice echoed throughout the entire hall, “And now, please direct your attention to our friends from Jupiter. They have prepared a performance for us. Please give them a warm welcome!”
Applause filled the hall. Several ambassadors from the largest planet in the solar system exited onto the stage in bronze costumes. They were taller usual human height; the color of their hair also differed, it varied from white to blue hues.
A serene melody reverberated throughout the hall. It was hard to determine what kind of instrument produced such a beautiful, unearthly sound. Jupiterians sang in an unrecognizable language. Their voices grew louder when a wind swept through the hall. Suddenly, colors burst in the air.
“What is that?” Arthur wondered.
“The sound vibrations manifest as actual colors, so you can see the music in addition to hearing it,” Grandma Doris explained.
Everyone watched in rapture. Suddenly, the singers fell silent, and all the colors in the air fell to the ground. After several seconds of total silence, one of the performers sang again in a quiet voice. The others joined in and performed the last couplet with the greater ascent. The wind shuffled rising colors in the air, and at the end of the song, they disappeared as fast as appeared in the beginning. Everyone was applauding long after the final notes faded.
Florence’s voice once again filled the room, “Please enjoy your desserts now and the rest of the evening. We delighted to see everyone here today.”
Grandma Doris and Grandpa Joe continued a conversation with their grandchildren. They shared recollections from their time in Octavia. The hall filled with rumble and instrumental music in the background. Arthur, Carol, and River seemed to get used to the unusual creatures around, and even later that evening, they manage to get acquainted with some of them. The only one who wasn’t very talkative was Vic. He mainly listened to others, supported the conversation sometimes, and curiously observed the surroundings.
After dinner, when the guests began to part ways, Patricia approached their table and said that tomorrow’s lesson would be with the Ketling family. She explained how to get there and said they would stay there for a couple of days. After that, Patricia joined her parents. If not consider the fact that they were over three hundred years old—that day the children learned that Octavia’s inhabitants live much longer—they looked nearly as a usual family, enjoying the evening along with everyone.
Chapter five
Meeting the Ketlings
The next morning, shortly after waking up, they set off to the Ketling’s. The Ketling’s log house sat at the foot of a mountain and was not far from the camp. Mrs. Ketling met the four at the entrance.
“Welcome! I’ve been expecting you. Please, come in,” A blond woman of medium height greeted them amiably.
The group followed Mrs. Ketling into the kitchen. When they entered the house, kids immediately sensed that they arrived in a very cozy place. A little girl played with dolls on a rug.
“Liz, greet our guests,” said Florence.
“Hi!”
“She’s only six years old. We also have an older son, Germaine, but he’s at school right now. You’ll get to meet him when he comes home. Ah, yes, my name is Chloe, and my husband Stephan left for work earlier this morning. You’ll have another lesson tomorrow with him.” Chloe explained that her husband worked at an intergalactic station. He also was one of Florence’s assistants and held a great deal of responsibility.“I already know each of your names: Carol, River, Vic, and Arthur, right?” Everyone nodded. “Great, and now I believe we can start our lesson. Let’s go to the garden.”
They settled down among the plants and trees around a table. In a moment, a pot of tea with biscuits appeared on it out
of nowhere.
“Please enjoy,” Chloe said. “You are welcome to note in your journals. I know that Patricia introduced you a bit to the topic of manifestation, and you already had some practice. But now I want to explain in more detail. And also talk about wishes.
So, how does a wish come true? The foundation is a strong belief that the wish will do come true. Unfortunately, in your world, this doesn’t always work, because people have lots of doubts, fears, and not much belief in them.
The word davriada helps you to create and materialize things instantly. Therefore it allows you to see that magic is possible. But once you fully realize that you are the creator of your every thought and action, everything will fall into place, and you will be able to create without davriada, but only by focusing on the things you want.
It may not be very clear now. But after you think of this information more, it will make more sense, especially when you will start to practice it. Any questions so far?”
“You don’t use davriada, do you?” asked Arthur.
“No, only our children using it in the beginning, but after they learn, they don’t need it as well. By the way, after you will learn this, you can continue to practice it when you come back home. Unfortunately, in your world, davriada will not work. So we encourage you to use it here, especially in the first days. ”
“Cool,” said Arthur.
“Are you cold?” asked Chloe.
“No, sorry, this word also means in our world that what I heard is awesome. And I would love to learn that.”
“I am sure you will.”
They continued to discuss the subject of wishes during the couple of hours, where Chloe was answering the questions and explaining in more detail things that been hard to understand.
